LCF 4 YEAR ANNIVERSARY June 1st
SAVE THE DATE!
It’s time to party y’all!!! It has been an amazing 4 years at Lineage CrossFit! At the end of the month we are going to celebrate on Saturday MAY 31ST! LCF will be providing a ton of food per usual and if you would like to provide your favorite side dish or dessert, please feel free to bring one! * We will have a sides/desserts sign up sheet in the gym when we get closer to the event! We are so excited to hang out, eat, laugh, drink and continue to deepen the culture we have here with all you kick ass people!
LCF IS GROWING!
Hey fam, Andy here! If you are in the PM classes I think it is safe to say that you have noticed the 18-24 people who are in your class at any given hour! Classes are getting large! If you are one of those highly observant folks you have also noticed that over the last 5 months we have made some changes to the floor plan of the gym. Rowers stowed away, benches on the walls and dumbbells stacked differently. You’ve possibly even noticed that the way we are changing the programming a bit to accommodate the class sizes!
All of these things that Kelly and the coaching staff are helping me do is with the purpose to help you continue to have a great workout, have the safe amount of room you need to perform the workout, and make sure you don’t feel crowded!
The way we are going to change the programming starting this coming week is intended to continue to give you a great experience! Yes, it’s going to be different. Yes, it’s a necessary thing. Yes, we are testing it out to make sure it works (honestly I know it will). Many CrossFit gyms who are limited on space and have exceptional member bases get creative just like we are doing here at LCF and it works great.
Honestly you wont notice most of it because I’ve been making slight changes already!
SO here are some changes you might see
- Overhead work thats heavy in short EMOMs in teams of 2 – Mondays and Fridays (I’ve already been doing this)
- Overhead work light in metcons (I’ve already been doing this)
- Wednesdays team wods – not always (the major change)
- Wednesdays that will have specific flows to how the athlete moves through class where the EQUIPMENT WILL NOT BE MOVED BY THE MEMBER.
I know for a fact that team workouts create fitness more than working out solo. Just like Saturdays we will team up with another person but the difference is you will team up with similar fitness levels (everyone for the most part knows who they can hang with) so we WILL HAVE ONE BAR PER TEAM, OR ONE BOX, ETC.
When two people pair up who aren’t exactly the same level, lets say one has pull ups and the other has chest to bar, the team will do what they can to keep the work rest ratios fair! This WORKS, I’ve done it and I’ve seen it work!
It may take some time to get use to just like anything knew but it will be ok!
I know we have a great community of nice caring people so this shouldn’t be a big deal!
Thanks for growing with us FAM! I appreciate you all!
-Andy
